Noona romances are such the rage that even stories about 400-year-old aliens paired with 27-year-0ld actresses are undercover noona romances. But cable is all about authenticity so when it was time for jTBC to find a noona for their romance, they cast one from the popular variety show Noona Over Flowers.
Oh Hye-Won works as the director of planning for the Seohan Arts Foundation. She is elegant and excels at dealing with other people. Oh Hye-Won becomes involved in a love affair with Lee Sun-Jae. He is genius like pianist in his 20’s.
Oh, another genius musician? I hope their romance is a lot steamier than what we’re getting from the genius pianist and his noona in a cable drama that’s currently airing.
Here are some BTS stills from the poster shoot:
Many enjoy watching young men in love with older women when the age difference is within what they feel is an acceptable range. The same is also true for the more conventional reverse where some get turned off when the young woman’s oppa is an ahjussi. Prime Minister and I featured a romance with a 14-year age difference and while it was liked by some before it turned makjang, the ratings were subpar throughout its run. Did the age difference have anything to do with that? Will it be different here?
For starters, this doesn’t sound like a rom-com and I believe Hye Won will be unhappily married. Will that make the audience root for this clandestine couple? They look cute holding each other although I suspect there won’t be much smiling going on when the cameras are rolling. Regardless, I’m all for sexiness so I hope they bring it.
Secret Love Affair will starting airing on jTBC in March.
