FIVE wonderful blogging years! I think it went by so fast, we didn’t even realise we’ve been together for so long. I will echo Clockwatcher‘s sentiment with regard to this, “it’s been a fun ride”.
It all started from our love for Coffee House that served as an inspiration to write something that no other site have. Initially, we noticed that we love to watch K-dramas that other bloggers dislike. Couch Kimchi provided us with a NEW PAGE, a personal page not just for five ladies but for everyone who gives their own time to sit with us to read our rants, endless raves and fangirl moments.
Writing for five years has been an adventure. Meeting different actors in every genre, falling in love with them and learning along the way has been a treat for me. This year alone I was able to rediscover Jo Jung Seok’s brilliance, immerse in Ji Chang Wook‘s charm and fall more crazily in love with Lee Sang Yoon. I have full respect for the multi-hyphenate Ku Hye Sun who is my personal icon that motivates me to continue pursuing what I love to do everyday without fear. These actors are just among the others who provided entertainment, happiness and love in every project they are in. Reviewing a drama makes writing a breeze when actors, directors and writers serves a perfect blend of flaw, humour and heart.
In my journey here in CK, I have found immense happiness in sharing an article that I’ve written wearing my heart on my sleeve. There is a different sense of accomplishment and joy sharing my thoughts and personal lessons that a drama taught me.
Apart from that, it’s the bond and love that I have for my fellow CK ladies that made this journey better than what I expected. The CK ladies has secured a special place in my heart. I’m forever grateful that I have them as my family in this crazy world of K-drama. Couch Kimchi is formed with a strong foundation that the CK ladies worked hard to build through the years of blogging.
On behalf of the CK ladies, I would like to THANK all of you who have been part of this blog. Our guest writers, past and present, also played an important role in our growth. Our collaboration with SOOMPI helped us reach out to more K-drama fanatics and we will remain committed with the team behind Soompi and Viki.
A lot of things happened in the span of five years. We had to move to a new home, we created our Facebook page that served as a side dish where we can share extra K-drama servings for all of you. We will try to keep up with the demand, we will continue to be driven by our passion to write, and we will be here joining you squee to your heart’s content. Sitting with us here at the couch is the force that keeps us motivated, we are not going to stop improving and writing for all of YOU.
Exactly five years ago, this day (October 12, 2010) we started posting articles. We’ve been through a lot of changes from couchkimchi.wordpress.com to our own current domain. THANK YOU for being with us all these years!!
It is time for another CHANGE. As we strive to be better every year, watch out for an exciting year ahead!
From all of us here, always HAVE FUN READING!! ❤️
