After a memorable turn as a producer, Gong Hyo Jin returns to the small screen as a weather forecaster. I find her to be a pretty dependable actress so while I balk at the 24-episode length, I will check this one out.
The drama depicts romance as well as intense competitive rivalry between an anchor and a weather forecaster working together for a television news show.
The competition is fierce when you work at a broadcast news station. You have no friends, and everyone is out for himself or herself. Pyo Na Ri (Gong Hyo Jin) is a weather forecaster from a humble background. She secures a part-time contract to work at a prestigious broadcast network but soon realizes that petty jealousy and cutthroat competition surrounds her every day at work. When Na Ri falls in love with the station’s star news anchor, Lee Hwa Shin (Jo Jung Suk), will she be able to get what she wants both at work and in her personal life?
I was wondering why an anchor and weather forecaster would be in competition given that they are on different lanes but it turns out that Na Ri aspires to be a news anchor herself. There’s also another element of her getting over her long-time crush on him (and falling for his chaebol best friend) just as he begins to reciprocate her feelings. That should be fun!
It’s written by Seo Soo Hyang (Pasta, Romance Town) and directed by Park Shin Woo (Angel Eyes, Queen of Ambition). I’ve tried both of their individual works and never completed them but let’s see if this collaboration will be different.
Anyway, I’m sure a lot of people fell in love with Jo Jung Suk’s Sun Woo in last year’s Oh My Ghost so it’ll be a treat to see him again.
Haha. This looks pretty funny. Here’s the long preview. The print isn’t very good so find another copy on Naver.
