Am I wrong? Do remakes do much better than I realize? Because I think that majority of them aren’t ratings hits yet networks keep making them. Either they are more profitable than I realize or I only remember the flops.
Anyway, perhaps SBS has the right idea with this remake.
As everyone knows, My Sassy Girl is the 2001 mega-hit that made Jun Ji Hyun and Cha Tae Hyun household names. An American remake was made, as was a Japanese drama remake and a China/Korea collaboration sequel.
So it’s about time Korean dramas got into the action… with a twist. The remake will be a fusion sageuk. Sounds fun!
In this drama, Joo Won will be the genius, cold-hearted Gyun Woo while Oh Yeon Seo will be the trouble-making Princess Hye Myung.
I may be the only person on the planet who dislikes the movie (I only liked the final scene) but this drama could be fun. I’ll be checking it out (as long as there’s very limited puking) when it premieres on SBS in 2017.
