Hwarang’s Main Teaser Is All About The Love Triangle

Goddammit! Why are Korean dramas so freaking obsessed with love triangles? Give them a rest, already! It’s not like we don’t already know who the main couple is. Especially when all they succeed in doing is torturing the suckers who fall for the second lead.

Yes, guys, I think I’ve fallen for the second lead! Why me?!?!

So I absolutely had no interest whatsoever in the freaking second lead of this drama. Heck, there was a chance that I wouldn’t watch it (even though I like Go Ara). But if I did, I was already on Team Park Seo Joon.

Then I watched the teaser. Big mistake.

While I think Park Hyun Sik is cute, I’m not into him. Perhaps it’s because the only drama I’ve seen him in is Heirs. Hence, I never knew he could be intense. Or that he had that look in his eye. Yes, ladies, that look.

Le sigh.

Hwarang premieres on December 19th on KBS.

Hyungsik’s charms strike again! You’re trapped, girl…I’ve been one of his victims ( a happy one :D) since High Society. His eyes are everything, that’s the first thing that got me attracted to him. Very expressive and puppy-like…when he looks at you this way, you can’t help but give in/surrender to him (Park Seo Joon who already? j/k, I like him as well)

The biggest mistake would be to write him off just because of his comical role in The Heirs…Heirs is not exactly what I’d called a masterpiece (let’s be honest, I hated it though I only skimmed through Hyungsik’s parts) People tends to dismiss him because of this role, saying that he was forgettable – Don’t kill me but let’s get real here, everyone was terrible and wasted in this drama… it was like watching BOF2 (and Lee Min Ho is definitely too old to play a high schooler). It’s unfair to judge/rate one’s performance with such drama imo.

Watch instead: What happens to my family? (53 episodes but worth it), Sirius, Nine, High Society (sloppy writing, so-so acting from the leads, the drama is only watchable thanks to him…yet I fell for him with this drama) and see how good he really is. He’s not only a pretty face, he’s incredibly talented (I didn’t even know he was an idol at first)
If I’m watching Hwarang, it’s just for him. I’m not really a fan of the Flower Boy franchise to tell the truth (only watched Flower Boy Next Door for Kim Ji Hoon)…I know I will suffer second lead syndrome and curse the heroine for rejecting such a perfect guy lol…but damn with it, I’m here for the long-haul.

Anyway, I’m way more excited about his other drama ‘Strong Woman Do Bong Soon’ with Park Bo Young and icing on the cake, this time around, he’s the male lead (and it’s well-deserved) Sorry for the long rambling, Hyungsik is so underrated that sometimes I feel like I have the duty to promote him lol

I will watch this for park hyuk SIk. I have become his huge fan after high society. He oozes so much intensity .. it will melt ur heart . His eyes speak like anything . Can’t wait to watch him if it’s intense role .

  • DeeDee says:

Yep. High Society did it for me. You need to watch that! I didn’t watch it for the main OTP but for the second leads love story. Very intense!!

    • tessieroo says:

We’ll just have to gang up and force Clock to watch “High Society” – that’s what did it for me too. *hee* I didn’t give a hoot about the main OTP in that one.

good thing for me is that I love both so I’ll be happy for Park Seo Joon while being sad for Park Hyuk Sik!! as much I’m happy to have them both in one drama, why do they need to be love rivals?!! sigh

I’m surprised so many people are on board watching this drama, because after this trailer I’m convinced it is going to horrible, ridiculous and probably a frustrating drama.
    Good luck guys,

    • tessieroo says:

Yea…we watch a LOT of dramas that are horrible, ridiculous and incredibly frustrating. *sigh* Oh, well – BRING IT ON! 😀
