“Tomorrow With You” Episode 7 Preview

What about this show isn’t working for the Korean audience? Because the ratings appear to be spiraling downwards.

I haven’t yet watched the previous episode but will express my thoughts after watching both,

not mindlessly cliche enough? Requires too much thinking? Sorry…But I find it fascinating. It was hard to get into but I am thoroughly invested now!

I can understand why Korean audiences might not like it. It’s kind of a dark show. But I find it really compelling. What drives the narrative is not so much the romance but the mystery surrounding the possible futures and the motives of the other time traveler. It’s not really a romcom at all.

To me I can understand the drop in the ratings. While I love, love, love the chemistry between Shin Mina and Lee Je Hoon, (it’s explosive), there’s something “off” about the drama that I can’t quite put my finger on.

Maybe it is the way the story is being told from the POV of an observer looking in at someone else’s story. Unlike its predecessor Goblin which sucks you in and gets you emotionally vested in the drama, in Tomorrow With You, you observe them, even sympathize, but you don’t totally connect with the characters especially the side ones, and the dark tones of the film doesn’t help.

That’s my perspective anyway. Others might disagree. I do know it’s not for everyone.

For me I am kind of pissed that they ran through the romantic history that fast. I can’t help but feel robbed..
