“The King Loves” Episodes 5-6 Preview

I probably watch an average of one sageuk a year so they really aren’t my thing. However, despite the low ratings, it appears that Korean netizens enjoyed the debut. What did you guys think?

Well, this is a drama I won’t be watching!

This is a drama I would definitely watching. Yoona is awesome, Siwan is so good looking that at times he looks pretty. Jonghyun is goodlooking and charismatic.

I was confused for a sec as to how ep 5 and 6 preview are already out…forgot that korean dramas have switched to that 30 min ep format. I haven’t watched any dramas in the new format yet, does it make any difference? Funny enough, I noticed dramas in the past that had slight pauses at the 30 min mark such as JTBC’s Heartless City anyway.

I’m thinking of picking up The King Loves when it is halfway through airing. I have only recently started to watch historical dramas but I have to say I’m really enjoying Seven Day Queen.

JTBC, tvN and other cable channels always had commercials inserted but network shows aren’t allowed that, which is why we now have these 30-minute episodes. It’s a way of inserting commercials in the middle while circumventing the law that doesn’t allow them to do it.

Oh I didn’t know that, thanks for the info! 🙂 I was actually in S. Korea this spring and would of course watch kdramas on the hotel TV while resting and did notice the commercial breaks on tvN dramas like Chicago Typewriter and was wondering about that lol…so that explains the weird repeated scenes I see in tvN dramas, those are the equivalent of slight pause for commercial break!
