I’ve seen a bunch of teasers around for this drama and haven’t been a fan because they look very cheesy and while I don’t dislike the actors, I don’t like them enough to sit through a cringe-fest. But I’ve been wrong several times so who knows? Perhaps this drama will surprise me.
Now that I’ve gotten that off my chest, what is it drama about? From AsianWiki:
Byun Hyuk (Choi Si-Won) is a son from a wealthy family who runs a large company. He lives a happy life without any specific goals. He is confident around women and he is also naive, with a warm heart. Byun Hyuk begins to live in an studio in a poor area. He hides his background.
Baek Joon (Kang So-Ra) lives in the same area. She works part-time jobs to make ends meet. Baek Joon graduated from a good university, but she was unable to land a job at a company and begin taking part-time jobs. She is positive and full of justice, but her life changes when Byun Hyuk appears.
I’ve been enjoying more realistic dramas like Fight For My Way or even Live Up To Your Name where both characters are of equal status but I don’t think these chaebol Cinderella stories will ever go away. And I wonder if we even want them to because for all my complaints, my hypocritical self watched a recent drama where both characters were suffering and wished for one to be rich to potentially end the other’s suffering. Pathetic, I know 😀
Anyway, here are some teasers:
It looks really silly, right? But these are just teasers so the drama itself could have a different tone.
Also starring is my main man, Gong Myung, as Kwon Je Hoon, an ambitious man working for Byun Hyuk’s company. He’s a doofus in everything I see him in but this role could depart from that. Tentative “yay!”
Here are the official posters:
These are cute. Revolutionary Love premieres on October 14th on tvN.
