JTBC’s “Eulachacha Waikiki” Episode 2 Preview

Guys, what is this?

I was curious about the drama replacing Just Between Lovers and clicked on this preview with anticipation because Kim Jung Hyun (School 2017) and the guy who plays one half of the most frustrating romance in history, Im Sung Min (Age of Youth), are in it.

But…

This is the synopsis from AsianWiki:

Kang Dong-Goo (Kim Jung-Hyun) dreams of becoming a movie director, but he is cynical due to bad luck. Cheon Joon-Ki (Lee Yi-Kyung) wanted to follow in his father’s footsteps and become an actor, but he is now just a minor actor. Bong-Doo-Sik (Son Seung-Won) came to Seoul to become a scenario writer, but things have not been easy for him.

These 3 men run the guest house Waikiki in Itaewon, South Korea. Their guest house is facing bankruptcy and then a mysterious baby and single mother appear at Waikiki.

I wasn’t expecting anything particularly serious but this is way too slapstick-y for my blood.  But maybe some people will like it. On the plus side, I see a lot of familiar faces; actors who play minor roles that may get a chance to play bigger ones on this show. Which is always a good thing.

    Yeah that humor…it doesn’t appeal to me…

I had seen the synopsis and thought “Oh. Three Men and a Baby K-Drama style”.

But in that trailer, I don’t see where a single mom and baby come into it. I normally hate slapstick, but the S. K-ers usually find a way to pull me in to their entertainment and I could use a dose of silly right now so…

Thanks for posting this. I’ll check it out.

I just binge watched up to episode 8 because i thought I’d heard somewhere that this was a mini-mini-series but I guess it’s not.

I will say that it gets funnier as it goes along and as you become more familiar with each character. Literally laugh out loud funny.

This has been hella funny! Slap stick humor, it’s true, but good for plenty of laughs. The comedic timing of the entire cast is great. Liked the first two episodes.
