Two Lives One Heart is set in the thoracic surgery department of a hospital.
The writers (Choi Soo Jin & Choi Chang Hwan) and director (Jo Young Kwang) of the very successful Defendant are joined forces once again to bring us what is sure to be an action-packed series.
Go Soo (Empire of Gold) plays Park Tae Soo, a fellow whose mother needs a heart transplant. Um Ki Joon (Defendant) plays his professor, villainous Choi Seok Han, a skilled surgeon discriminated against for attending a low-tier university and Seo Ji Hye (Punch) is Yoon Soo Yeon, a resident goes into thoracic surgery after a near-death experience.
The title could refer to the heart transplant the lead character’s mother desperately needs or may be a little philosophical, referring to the two lives affected (doctor’s and patient’s) during every heart surgery. But that might be a bit of a stretch because multiple people are involved in every surgical operation. I’m shutting up now.
Two Lives One Heart is scheduled to premiere this fall on SBS.
