Happy New Year! And I wish you all a wonderful 2019. I apologize for being MIA for most of the last few months and will try to blog more.
Vagabond is an upcoming SBS spy series starring Lee Seung Gi and Bae Suzy. Hmm. Interesting. I have some initial thoughts but the first day of the year is usually the most optimistic so I’m just going to keep quiet and be optimistic.
Here’s the synopsis from AsianWiki:
Cha Dal-Gun (Lee Seung-Gi) is a stunt man who dreams of becoming a world famous action actor. He survives a plane crash which changes his life. He faces a hidden conspiracy behind the plane crash and digs up a national corruption case.
To support her mother and younger sibling, Go Hae-Ri (Bae Suzy) wants the stable job of a public officer. She becomes an NIS agent. She hoped to become a white agent, but she became a black agent.
Okay then. Cool. Here’s the teaser:
Not bad. I am all about drama, action, espionage and intrigue all mixed in with romance so it could work for me.
Vagabond is a treat for 2013’s Gu Family Book fans who get to see their OTP reunite and probably fall in love all over again. Other cast include Shin Sung Rok (The Last Empress), Moon Jeong Hee (Sweet, Savage Family) and Kim Min Jong (Mrs. Cop).
It’s written by Jang Young Cheol and Jung Kyung-Soon, whose credits include Empress Ki and Giant, and directed by Yoo In Sik, who not only worked with them on those dramas but also with Lee Seung Gi on You’re All Surrounded. This is definitely a drama of previous collaborators.
Vagabond is scheduled to premiere on SBS in May 2019 which makes me wonder what else they have in store if they are releasing teasers this early.
